The Social Justice Network [SJN] is a registered charity and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the
Church of England’s Canterbury Diocesan Board of Finance.
The charity’s objects are for the benefit of the public:
- Providing relief through the provision of grants, goods, or services, mainly but not exclusively
for the homeless, refugees and asylum seekers, and those leaving prison into homelessness. - To promote the efficiency and effectiveness of other charities/groups, mainly but not
exclusively, by the provision of information, advice and support.
The Board of Directors of the company are also trustees of the charity.
To help us grow we are actively seeking to recruit three additional trustees to
join our Board. We are particularly keen to recruit members of local communities in the Canterbury
Diocese who have one or more of the following skills: - Experience of the Charity or Not-for-profit Sector
- Experience of Charity Finance
- Expertise in Marketing or Fundraising
- Experienced in Safeguarding
Board meetings are held three times per year (in-person at Canterbury Diocesan House and also
online), on Tuesdays10.00 am – 2.00 pm (including lunch).
The Board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of SJN and guides and supports the
Executive Director and his staff.
